What the work is for

I help people move out of chaos and into structure so they can execute at a higher level in their lives.

Across everything I do, business, mental health, sports, family systems, and addiction. The outcome is the same.

My work is rooted in building self-leadership. I develop people who can think clearly, handle pressure, follow through and trust themselves, no matter what they’ve been through in their lives.

I’ve coached athletes, entrepreneurs, talk-show hosts, and an Emmy-winning content creator.

My approach

My coaching is more than coaching. It’s a project.

I’ve been a professional figure skating coach since 1997. Everyone hires a coach to learn a sport: to improve performance, gain perspective, stay accountable, build confidence, and measure growth.

I approach life coaching the exact same way. Healing, confidence, discipline, emotional resilience, and mindset are all trainable.

You do not change your life through motivation alone. You change your life through repetition.

Stick to the plan. Repeat it like medicine. Measure your progress. Watch your life begin to change.

My why, and how I do it

I believe success happens when I contribute to a greater cause.

If the work I do with you only serves the hour we are in, I have not done my job. What you build has to keep working when I am not in the room. More often than not, it has to reach the people around you too.

I don't believe in doing something a certain way simply because that's the way it's always been done.

I look for clarity, simplify what feels complicated, and find a better way forward.

If I had to write down everything I believe in, the list would run to about ten things. Three of them would be the same thing said differently: clarity, simplifying, and making sense of what feels confusing.

Most people arriving here are not short of effort or information. They are short of a version of their situation that makes enough sense to act on.

So we start with what’s actually going on. You get curious about it instead of judging it, the perspective shifts, and then the work goes to your inner core and to your daily basis.

What trauma-informed coaching actually means

It means I start from the assumption that you are not lazy, broken, or incapable. Most people who come to me are stuck in survival patterns, fear, avoidance, overthinking, emotional conditioning, and nervous system responses that were once protecting them.

Those responses were useful once. That is the part people miss about themselves, and it is why willpower alone keeps failing them.

It also means knowing the edge of my own work. Coaching is not therapy. If what you need is therapeutic support, I will say so early and plainly rather than take you through a program that was never going to be the right one.

It is the first thing we establish, and it is why the people who do stay, stay for years.

What I bring: a trusting relationship where others know they can count on me.

What clients say

High performer
Anxiety, depression, and a lack of motivation and self-confidence can certainly hit. That’s where Tracey Potter came in and shifted my mindset for the better. … I would recommend her to anybody who really needs a respectful (and fun) kick in the butt to get their life in order.

Over the years
Tracey is absolutely amazing. I can’t thank her enough for everything she’s done for me and taught me over the years. She’s incredible and I’d absolutely recommend her!

Who I send people to

Coaching is not therapy, and it is not legal advice. Part of the job is saying so when it’s true — and not leaving you with “find a lawyer” or “see a therapist” when what you need is a name.

If I don’t think I can help you, I have a lot of resources, and I’ll point you to the one that fits.

Divorce & family law: Bruce Law Firm, West Palm Beach.
Finding a therapist: StayMarriedFlorida, a South Florida directory.
Residential treatment: Kinder in the Keys, Key Largo.
Reading: Dr. David E. Clarke.

All of them, with why, on the resources page.

Something I believe
Preserve your voice. Not everyone gets the privilege of hearing your voice, your wisdom, your love, and your understanding. Preserve those things for the people who see the good.
